Zhipeng Lin

Lin Zhipeng est né à Guangdong, Chine en 1979. Il a reçu une licence en finance anglaise à l’Université des études étrangers de Guangdong.

Lin Zhipeng est l’un des membres les plus importants de la nouvelle génération de photographes qui s’est distingué en donnant de l’importance aux réseaux sociaux. Quoique très intime, la série de photographies 223 donne l’image d’un journal de bord d’une jeune génération qui tente d’échapper aux pressions de la société en jouant avec ses limites. Ses images ne sont ni dramatiques ni glauques, mais plutôt parfois punk et trash, et souvent très poétiques. Elles véhiculent une douce insouciance, une innocence joueuse, et un certain hédonisme allant a l’encontre des plaisirs normalement privilégiés par la classe moyenne.

Motifs superposés sur la peau, atmosphère poétique ou les amants arrêtent le temps, fruits et animaux urbains inattendus…Le vocabulaire de Lin Zhipeng, quoique dans la veine de Tillmans, Clark et McGinley, reste unique. Ayant grandi en Chine, Lin Zhipeng se profile comme un bridge person entre deux cultures, l’est et l’ouest.
