Beijing-based artist Xin Yunpeng is hosting a live video session titled “The Boiling Ice Rink”(「滾燙的溜冰場」) as part of a project curated by Yao Mengxi, resident at Institute for Provocation (IFP). Titled ‘Fair waters’ (「平等的水域」), the project comprises a series of live videos in which selected Beijing-based artists visit different local and historically significant bodies of water.
The live stream takes place on 15 Jan 2021, from 2-3:30 pm on Bilibili. During the live stream, Xin Yunpeng will visit a lake once used for cooling blast furnaces in a Beijing steel factory. The lake is currently frozen in the depths of winter.
