de Sarthe is pleased to present the event of Hong Kong Art Week 2018 'Be bold, be critical at de Sarthe' a challenging, open-ended round table conversation about Xin Yunpeng's (b.1982) current solo exhibition at the gallery. Art critics, contemporary art collectors, local artists, and the gallery Director Willem Molesworth will be present and engage in the conversation. The event will also be live-streamed.
“If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" is bullshitin the context of art. The contemporary art world has fostered an environment where art is only discussed in positive terms, without criticism or debate. In a bid to increase open-minded discussion, we invite art lovers to provide us with honest feedback on our exhibitions, even if such feedback is potentially negative, so long as the conversation contributes to a deeper understanding of art. de Sarthe strives to be a platform for expressing views freely and believes that an open conversation can enhance the evolution of art and challenge the work of artists.
Facebook and Instagram live stream will be available, and the online audience is welcome to raise questions and share comments with us in real-time.
