de Sarthe's Beijing Gallery is Forced to Relocate

It is with a heavy heart that de Sarthe announces the sudden, forced relocation of its gallery space in Beijing's Caochangdi art district. de Sarthe, along with our neighboring galleries, studios, and restaurants were given two weeks notice to vacate before the immediate demolition of our buildings. The gallery will be closed after the conclusion of Mak Ying Tung 2's current exhibition, "The Anything Machine" on July 22nd.

Founder of de Sarthe Beijing gallery Vincent de Sarthe comments, "It was a pleasure to be part of the Caochangdi art district and we feel fortunate to have had more than three successful years there. We wish all of our neighbors the best in relocating."

While the situation is regrettable, de Sarthe is deeply committed to the art scene in China and will begin in earnest the search for a new space. The gallery currently represents eleven artists from Greater China and is dedicated to maintaining a venue for the exhibition of their artwork in the country. We look forward to sharing news of our future developments. The Beijing team will continue to do business during the relocation and can be reached via beijing@desarthe.com or +86 13651370251.

Our Hong Kong gallery remains open.
