The rate of land degradation is appalling – 1/3 of the Earth’s land has already been desertified or degraded, and land size of 36 football field is being destroyed every minute. But the public interest of the land issue is very low. To raise awareness of the land issue, Future Forest has been holding desertification-related exhibitions, together with Korea Foundation and the United Nations Convention to combat desertification(UNCCD). So far, 9 exhibitions were held at important international meetings and conferences including the 2010 G-20 Seoul Summit, the 10th & 11th UNCCD Conference of the Parties(COP) and the General Assembly at the UN Headquarters. This year, the 13th United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification Conference of the Parties (UNCCD COP) is to be held near the Kubuqi desert, where the Great Green Wall is formed by Future Forest. The policy makers and the stakeholders related to the land issue gather to attend the COP. Through this opportunity, we are aiming once again to raise awareness of the participants of the COP and the world citizens about the land issues. The exhibition will take place in Ordos International Convention and Exhibition Center, Inner Mongolia, China, and runs from 6 September to 17 September, 2017.
